Affiliated Steelband: CODRINGTON PAN FAMILY.


Keisha Codrington is an extremely gifted musician and steelpan soloist and has been dubbed a prodigy by many who have heard her perform. Born on February 3"11994, Keisha is the fourth of six children of Cary and Karen Codrington. Keisha began playing the steelpan at the tender age of three, winning her first competition at the age of seven in 2001. She has since performed extensively throughout Trinidad as a soloist and also with her family band, the Codrington Pan Family.

As a gifted musician, Keisha can also play the piano, trumpet, xylophone/marimba, drum set and the African drums. At the age of nineteen, Keisha is currently a student at the University of the West Indies (UWI), enrolled in the Certificate in Music course. She has co-arranged for her family band in many competitions including the National Panorama competition, taking the band to the finals each year. Her goal is to successfully complete the two year certificate course and then move on to earn her Bachelor's degree in music. She also plans to achieve her Doctorate in music.

Some of her achievements include:

  • 1st place - steelpan soloist competition at Sanfest in 2001,2004,2005;
  • 1st place - School's Steelband Music Festival 2001 in the soloist category;
  • 2nd place - Pan Ramajay 2002 in the soloist category;
  • 1st place - Citigroup's Twelve and Under 2003;
  • 1st place - World Steelband Music Festival 2004, champion soloist.

She has also received many awards in recognition of her outstanding skill and performance on the steelpan.


  • 2002 - Performed at Tyrol Cot, Heritage Village, Barbados;
  • 2004 - Performed at Four Seasons Restaurant New York;
  • 2006 - Toured Chicago, Las Vegas and Burbank, Hollywood;
  • 2009 - Performed in Tokyo, Japan for Nippon Television;
  • 2009 - Performed in a number of shows throughout some major cities in India;
  • 2012 - Performed in a number shows in Caracas, Venezuela.
