Sforzata-PIBXII-2CLICO SFORZATA Celebrated thirty six (36) years in existence july 2013. Community oriented.

Won three National Panorama Finals, in the medium bands category, and placed third (3rd) on two occasions. Placed fourth (4™) at the last steel band music festival, and placed first in the 2010 pan in the 21st century. The band also assist in community fund raisers, youth development and sporting activities.

Outstanding leaders are Merlyn Gill and Russell Tesheira. The band is now managed and captained by Trevor “Tempo” Reid.

Some of our successes over the years are as follows:

  1. Two of the top Secondary Schools in the East, St Augustine Senior. Comprehensive and Eldorado Secondary were formed at the Sforzata Pan yard in 1981 and 1985 respectively.
  2. Won the National Bomb competition in 1978 playing the Folk song “Mango” arranged by its first arranger Merlin “Mutt” Gill who arranged for sixteen (16) years.
  3. 2005, won the National Medium Band Panorama paying, “Dingolay” arranged by Yohan Popwell.
  4. 2006, won again playing, “This melody Sweet, arranged by Yohan Popwell.
  5. 2007, the band placed third playing Calypso Music also arranged by Popwell.
  6. 2008, placed third in the National Medium Panorama.
  7. 2008, Won the Point Fortin Borough Day Pan competition.
  8. 2008, Place third (3rd) in Pan is beautiful XI and won the best dress.
  9. 2009, Won the Medium Band category of the National Panorama playing, Bandoleeros and
  10. In 2010, captured the first prize in the “Pan in the Twenty First Century Steelband Competition” playing, “Bust the window of your car”.

The band tune of choice for Pan is Beautiful XI1 is JUPITER COMPOSED by GUSTAV HOLST and arranged by AKUA LEITH. The TEST PIECE is arranged by KENNETH BROWN.
